Aurora Dawn captures Damien Hirst’s enduring fascination with butterflies, colour and the natural world. Against an energetic composition of radiant yellows, fiery reds and soft blues, butterflies appear suspended in motion, creating a striking contrast between delicate beauty and expressive abstraction.

Butterflies have remained central to Hirst’s artistic practice, symbolising transformation, beauty, mortality and the fleeting nature of life. In Aurora Dawn, their presence evokes a sense of optimism and renewal, celebrating the extraordinary vibrancy and fragility of the natural world.
