TIDE

TIDE is the contemporary Japanese artist Tatsuhiro Ide (b. 1984, Tokyo), widely recognised for his signature monochromatic paintings and sculptures featuring a trademark cartoon-like cat character set within intimate, domestic environments. Drawing on layered techniques—from spray paint and airbrush to textured brushwork—TIDE blends nostalgia, subtle humour and emotional depth, evoking vintage animation and childhood narratives while probing themes of solitude, comfort and unease. Based in Tokyo, his work has been exhibited internationally in cities including New York, Tokyo, Seoul and London, and has appeared in gallery solo shows and global auctions, establishing TIDE as a distinctive voice in contemporary art.
